I must admit, i've always found Monaco to be a struggle, i do find Austria much easier though (get a load of how badly that leading Haas is driving though)...

Whelp, definitely game over unless Hamilton gets a DNF at some point, realistically Vettel might get a solid haul of points, without safety cars I think the podium will be out of reach for him, meaning if it goes swimmingly for Hamilton he'll boost the difference by 12 - 15 between himself and Vettel. As a Vettel fan its going to be a tough end to the season.

Yeah, it's a shame that the season seems to be drawing to a more definitive conclusion earlier than ideal, but at the same time, maybe Vettel's getting karma for his actions in Azerbaijan...

Also I have doubts over whether Ferrari will still be this competitive next season given that they got rid of the man who ended up designing this car along with other people who were involved.

Well that was certainly an interesting incident on the slow down lap, i think there was quite a bit of brain fade (copyright DC) going on.

Crazy cool down lap. Great race from Vettel though! Vandoorne did very well as well.

More than likely, he has prior in Malaysia

Stayed away from the cameras this time though!

Anyway Vettel and Stroll let off, bizarre from Stroll though, he just didn't seem to be paying attention.

Well done to Verstappen on winning the race. Great for him after so much reliability misfortune over the course of the season to stand on top of the podium. Championship isn't over yet either even though Hamilton opened up the gap even more.

Vettel colliding with Lance Stroll on the slow down lap is one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. Then again, Stroll was apparently involved in similarly bizarre incidents in his F3 days..

Bit cheeky holding up Vettel (ever so slightly, but still!) when he was being lapped, Vettel only seemed to have a couple of laps to attack Ricciardo when he caught him, presume he was starting to run low on fuel.

Now there's a pair to watch out for in the future. Good chance Leclerc will be in F1 next year with Sauber.

It's probably best that i got a Charles Leclerc autograph now as more often than not, it is much harder once a driver makes it to F1 as not all the teams send out signed cards (in my experience, the easiest teams are Force India, Renault, Toro Rosso, and Red Bull, i've had occasional success with Williams and Sauber, while McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes only send out unsigned cards though that's probably due to the sheer amount of requests they receive, can't say what Haas do though as i've never tried them).

It was the 'get a sig before they hit the big time' method that has over the years, netted me autographs from the likes of Lewis Hamilton (Formula Renault), Jenson Button/Mark Webber/Takuma Sato/Heikki Kovalainen (all formula 3), and Juan Pablo Montoya (Formula 3000).

That reminds me, a while back i made a list of all my F1 driver autographs, here's a copy/paste so you can have a look should you be interested...

Well time is nearly up for Palmer, Renault have confirmed that from the USA Grand Prix onwards it'll be Carlos Sainz Jr in the car alongside Nico Hulkenberg. This means Gasly gets the call up to Toro Rosso alongside Kyvat.

Don't see him getting a seat in F1 anywhere else really, he's probably a very good driver but not really F1 material.

Yeah it's a shame he's probably done in F1 But such is the problems of coming from a famous family few seem to live to the hype generated and it seems Joleyn was just a very average driver who happened to be at the right place when Renault needed the money he brought.

Well, that's the championship over and done with. Don't see any way Vettel can get back into it, Hamilton could put a new engine in at 2 of the 4 races and still easily win the WDC, if they think reliability will be a concern that is, heck they may as well just for the hell of it now. He can win it in Austin be if wins (which there's a very high chance of) and Vettel finishes 5th or lower which is also possible considering Ferrari's recent engine woes.

Here's hoping we have 3 or 4 teams fighting it out in 2018, McLaren will be under pressure to deliver on their chassis as the Renault power unit has won a couple of races this year (admittedly only one on pure pace but still) as they've long been saying how good their chassis is.

Still, t'is the US Grand Prix this weekend, i wonder if Lewis Hamilton will make a total berk of himself during the national anthem (as some have suggested he might).

On a seperate note...

On the one hand this sounds fantastic, on the other hand not so much right now for folks in the UK. Partly because Sky already has an exclusive deal in place and also because it says it'll have different feeds for different countries where certain drivers/teams are more popular. This could mean we see a lot more of Hamilton from next year, even if he's 30 seconds up the road while people are racing behind, hopefully this won't actually be the case but you never know.

Rubbish if they don't offer a streaming service for the UK as a Sky subscription is very expensive if you only want to watch F1 and soon Channel 4 won't cover it (next year or year after?) meaning a subscription service would be ideal.

2019 will be the first year when i don't get to see F1 thanks to Sky. :(

The sport i've followed since 1991 will for the first time, be no longer available to me. :x

Yep it's rubbish, I'd probably be in the same situation if my parents didn't pay for Sky but unfortunately thats the way it's going (and has been for a while) sadly. Hopefully Liberty Media can either work out a deal for free to air F1 in the UK for 2019 onwards or offer the subscription as well. This is presuming the subscription won't be horribly overpriced.

I never watched it when it was on ITV, because of the adverts.
